Wolverines begin a three-game, WAC series with Grand Canyon Friday at 12 p.m.
At Utah Valley University ... SOPHOMORE ~ (2013): Made 11 appearances at pitcher while also splitting duties in the outfield or at DP ... in all, made 21 appearances with 13 starts ... started two games in the circle and earned the decision in each ... named to the PCSC Commissioner's Honor Roll for the second straight year ... threw a complete game with seven strikeouts to help top Youngstown State 8-3 on March 12, and followed that up three days later with another win, going 5.2 innings and striking out five in a 6-2 win against Green Bay ... pitched 24.2 innings on the year, holding a 3.69 ERA and striking out 20 batters ... at the plate, batted .237 (9-for-38) with seven RBIs and a home run ... all seven RBIs came over a two-game span at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. ... she helped her own cause against YSU, finishing the game 2-for-3 with her first career grand slam ... drove in three more runs the next day against Saint Peter's, going 1-for-3 with a bases-clearing single.
FRESHMAN ~ (2012): Made 23 appearances in the circle and three starts ... posted a 6-3 record, two saves and a solid 2.88 ERA ... pitched 60.2 innings overall and allowed just 51 hits, 25 earned run, struck out 32 and opponents batted just .229 off of her ... in PCSC-only play went 1-1 with a 3.71 ERA ... also had 11 at-bats at the plate and hit .364 (4-for-11) with a homer, an RBI and four runs scored ... she also didn't commit an error in the field (1.000 fielding percentage).
Before Utah Valley ...
Prepped at Viewmont High School in Bountiful ... named First Team All-State her junior year and Second Team All-State her freshman and sophomore seasons ... helped her team finish second in State in 2009 ... also played volleyball in high school.
Graduated from Viewmont HS with a perfect 4.0 GPA in 2011 ... born Oct. 6, 1992 in Salt Lake City ... her brother Matt played baseball at SLCC and her father Kevin played baseball at UVU and BYU ... daughter of Kevin and Cindy Peay.
