FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Utah Valley University softball team wrapped up the five-game Colorado State Invitational Sunday with a 7-3 loss to North Dakota State.
Amanda Perez went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Megan Kisner went 1-for-3 with two RBIs in the loss to the Bison.
The Wolverines (3-10) jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a two-run homer by Kisner in the second inning. NDSU plated three in the bottom it the third to lead 3-2 before UVU tied the score in the top of the fourth on an RBI double by Perez.
The Bison took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth and one more in the fifth.
Perez had a tremendous tournament for the Wolverines at the plate by hitting .625 with three doubles, two homers and seven RBIs. Cherylyn McGraw hit .533 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Mandy Tapia hit .444 with two RBIs and Kisner hit .333 with a triple, homer and six RBIs.
The Wolverines open their home slate Saturday when they host College of Idaho in a doubleheader beginning at noon at Mstar Field.
