OREM, Utah - Utah Valley University head softball coach Todd Fairbourne has announced his annual summer camps. The two camps will both be held at Wolverine Softball Field in Orem, with one taking place in mid-July and the other one being held in mid-August.
The first one will be a Fundamental Skills Camp that will be held July 9-11, and will be for 8-14 year olds. It will run daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will cost $125.00. Whether you're a Little League All-Star or a first-time player, this camp is for you. This fun-filled camp includes specific skill instruction for all facets of the game. Basic fundamentals of throwing fielding, hitting, pitching, catching, infield and outfield play, and offense will be introduced.
Campers will receive instruction from the UVU Coaching Staff as well as current and former Wolverine players.
The second camp will be a High School Showcase that is for 14-18 year olds and will run August 14-15. This camp will begin each day at 9 a.m. and will run until 4 p.m. The cost of this one is $225.00 and this camp is intended for the high school aged camper who is serious about competing at the next level and is looking for exposure. Each player will have an opportunity to showcase their talent in small group work as well as camp games on the field at Wolverine Softball Field. Campers will receive advanced instruction from the UVU Coaching Staff in all facets of the game.
There will be several college coaches working this camp from various college levels from NCAA Div. I thru Junior College, as well as current and former UVU players. Campers should expect to hit off live pitchers with 60+ velocity during camp games. This is a high intensity camp for the serious athlete with focus on competitive games and specific instruction.
