REGISTRATION STILL OPEN FOR TWO UVU SOFTBALL CAMPS

Utah Valley University softball coach Todd Fairbourne is still taking registrations for two softball camps to be held at MStar Field located on UVU's Orem campus.

Players can register on-line at www.wolverinegreen.com/sports/w-softbl/Camps.html.

The first camp - Utah Valley Competitive Camp - is set for July 27-29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, for players in grades 9-12+. It is designed to give serious players instruction to help them to be able to compete at a high level.

Emphasis will be placed upon each individual players' skill and knowledge on the field, while also teaching players the keys needed to be able to play at the next level. Skills will be developed through personal and small group instruction, drills and games.

Camp coaches will instruct in all aspects of the game, including game situations as well as the proper techniques and theory of hitting, pitching, base running and defense.

Games will be played each day with players having the opportunity to implement what they have learned in game situations with camp coaches present.

The camp fee is $125 if paid before July 17 or $150 if paid there after.

The second camp - Summer Fundamentals Camp - is set from Aug 10-13 from 9 a.m. to noon for participants in grades 3-8 and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for participants in grades 9-12+. This camp is designed to teach and instruct on the basic fundamentals of the game.

The camp fee is $100 if paid before Aug. 1 or $125 if paid there after.

Players for both camps will need to bring their own bats, batting gloves, helmets, gloves, catcher's gear and any other equipment. It is also recommended that each camper bring their own water bottle and sunscreen, etc. Please eat prior to camp. Lunch will not be provided.

Each participant must complete and sign the registration and waiver form to participate in camp.
