Sept. 27, 2012
OREM, Utah - Just days after longtime coach Todd Fairbourne's resignation, the Utah Valley University softball team will begin its fall exhibition season Friday at Wolverine Field. Admission will be free of charge to all of UVU's fall games. The Wolverines will begin their fall slate by taking on the College of Southern Idaho at 2 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, UVU will face Salt Lake Community College at 1:30 p.m. and Snow College at 4:30 p.m. Newly appointed interim head coach Rachel Hartgrove's Wolverines return 12 letterwinners and six starters from last season's squad that won a school record 33 games and the Great West Conference Tournament Championship. Besides this weekend, UVU will also play four other exhibition contests in mid-October. The Wolverines will once again welcome Snow to Wolverine Field on Oct. 13, Colorado Northwestern on Oct. 19, and SLCC and Southern Utah on Oct. 20.
