Coaching Bio
After a four-year career as a player at Utah Valley, Lacee Jones (formerly Koelliker) has completed her sixth season as an assistant coach for Sam Atoa, bringing with her an impressive list of records and an array of awards. Not only was she a two-time Division-I Independent Setter of the Year, Jones became the first Wolverine at the NCAA level to surpass 4,000 career assists. She finished her career with 4,057 assists, an average of 10.17 per game.

As a junior, Jones led all independent players with an average of 12.06 assists per game on her way to her first Setter of the Year award and a spot on the D-I All-Independent First Team. She followed that up with an average of 11.82 apg and a repeat setter and first team awards. She led the team to a school-record 18 wins and a first place finish at the 2005 Independent Championships, where she earned the tournament's Most Valuable Player award.

Academically, Jones excelled in the classroom during her time as a student-athlete. She was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 2nd Team, the D-I Independent All-Academic team and was the Utah Valley athletic department's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Jones hails from Las Vegas, Nevada, where she attended Silverado High School where she received High Honors. She was a three-time All-Conference and All-Region selection in high school.

Jones graduated Magna Cum Laude from Utah Valley University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and married Daniel Jones in June 2012.

SENIOR ~ (2006): Named Division-I Independent Setter of the Year and first team All-Independent for second straight season as a senior ... averaged 11.82 assists and 2.23 digs per game ... was a three-time D-I Independent Setter of the Week ... led team to a second place finish and independent championship, where she was named to all-tournament team ... was an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 2nd Team selection ... named to D-I Independent All-Academic team ... lead UV to UCF Fall Classic championship and was named MVP ... named to all-tourney team at La Quinta Invitational ... received Most Inspirational and Scholar-Athlete of the Year award at Utah Valley's annual athletic department Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet ... holds school record in several career categories including assists (4,057), assists per game (10.17), service aces (124) ... recorded eight double-doubles (assists/digs) during senior season ... had 54 assists and 18 digs in a win over IPFW .. had 50 assists in a three-game sweep of Montana State.

JUNIOR ~ (2005): Named the Division I Independent "Setter of the Year" ... named First Team All-Independent .... named D-I Independent Tournament MVP ... named to D-I Independent All-Academic team ... led all Division I Independent setters in assists (1375), and assists per game average (12.06) ... led all Independent players in service aces (55) and service aces per game average (0.48) ... led Utah Valley State with 11 double-doubles ... set a school record with 65 assists against Idaho State (9-16-05), and then tied that same school record three different times during the season ... tied a school record with six service aces in one match against Northwestern State (9-9-05) ... was second among Wolverine players in hitting percentage (.294), and tied for second in digs (243).

SOPHOMORE ~ (2004): Named Second Team All-Independent ... named Independent "Setter of the Week" on September 21st, and October 12th ... ran the Wolverine offense leading the team by playing in all 101 games during the season ... led the team in digs with 308 and was third in digs per game average with 3.05 ... was second on the team in total blocks (66), block assists (61), and blocks per game (0.65) ... had 7 block assists in two matches this season ... notched a school record 16 double-doubles averaging a double-double every 1.68 matches ... on five different occasions she was two kills away from a triple-double match ... finished with a school record 1133 assists averaging a school record 11.22 assists per game ... led the team with 21 service aces and was second on the team averaging 0.23 service aces per game.

FRESHMAN ~ (2003): Named to the Independent All-Freshman Team ... played in 84 games and was second on the team with 379 assists (4.51 A/G) ... recorded 78 kills (0.93 K/G) and led the team in hitting percentage at .371.
