OREM, Utah - The Utah Valley University women's volleyball team held its annual Alumni Match Friday night at the PE Building. The exhibition turned into a five-set battle between the current 2012 Wolverines and past UVU greats.

The Alumni ended up taking the tightly contested scrimmage 3-2 (25-21, 9-25, 30-28, 14-25, 19-17) over the current Wolverine roster.

"The alumni match is always fun but you want to win. We've got some things that we need to work on, including being more disciplined in our defense," said UVU head coach Sam Atoa. "Overall it was a fun night. It's nice to get the alumni together and for them to be able to get back on their old court."

Atoa and the Wolverines would like to dedicate their 2012 season to former Wolverine coach and UVU Athletics Hall of Fame member Lori Richards who passed away earlier this year. In honor of Richards, the team will all wear her initials on their jerseys (LDR, Lori Doerr Richards) throughout the season.

A scholarship fund has also been established in Richards' name and fans can donate towards the fund through the Wolverine Club by Clicking Here.
