EDINBURG, Texas - The Utah Valley women's volleyball team (6-8) extended its winning streak to three matches Friday evening in a three-set sweep (25-18, 25-22, 26-24) on the road against future Great West Conference opponent Texas-Pan American (3-11).
The victory marked the first road win for the Wolverines this season. Sophomore outside hitter Kayli Broadbent both teams with 10 kills in the match, and junior libero Allyce Wilson added 17 digs to her season total.
"It wasn't the prettiest match, but we did what we had to do," UVU head coach Sam Atoa said. "We did a lot of good things, but struggled doing some of the little things. I'm proud we were able to win our first match on the road. Now I hope we can move forward and continue to improve."
The Wolverines will play their next match Tuesday against Idaho State before UTPA comes to Orem October 24 for a rematch of Friday's contest.
