OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University Athletics unveiled its new state-of-the-art computer lab on Tuesday in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Vucci Technology Solutions donated $100,000 worth of equipment and services to refit the athletic department computer lab with virtual desktops and managed services.

"We continue to have exciting days in UVU Athletics," said Director of Athletics Mike Jacobsen. "Our student athletes will love and appreciate this system and we want to show our tremendous appreciation and support for Vucci and the Affleck family."

"I have been around this valley for a long time and I've seen UVU go from the trade tech to what it is today," said Dave Affleck, CEO of Vucci. "We are happy to remain partners and hopefully this is just the tip of the iceberg."

In addition to upgrading the student athlete's educational experience, the new "Vucci Computer Lab" will cut power usage by as much as 97 percent. The 30-computer lab runs without separate towers for each monitor. Instead, the monitors are connected back to the data center in the UVU library.

The new computer lab showcases the implementation of Vucci's virtual desktops and provides an excellent example of the cost savings and green initiatives Vucci's virtualization services provide.
